HAYLEY & JAKE’S WEDDING

A PERFECTLY EXECUTED ROSE GOLD AND PINK THEMED WEDDING AT MOORLAND GARDEN HOTEL IN DARTMOOR…

The sun shone whilst Team Jayley (as they had named themselves) celebrated becoming husband and wife with their family and friends.

THE COUPLE

Hayley and Jake’s love story started back in 2013 by the help of a mutual friend. Hayley planned a special trip to Poland in 2016 for Jake’s surprise 30th birthday celebration but she never knew that she would be the one surprised by Jake’s proposal!

THE PLANNING

The couple knew that planning a wedding is not an easy task, so they gave themselves enough time to plan it by setting their wedding date 2 years after the proposal.

Some of the wedding suppliers that helped Hayley and Jake in planning their dream wedding were:

Venue: Moorland Garden Hotel | Photographer: Memories & Milestones photography | Dress: The Wedding Company Plymouth | Suits: The Grooms Room | Hair: The Cutting Garden | Make-up: Carly Salisbury | Entertainment: Blue Thunder Sound | Flowers: Eva May’s Flowers | Cake: Celebration Cakes by Kelly

THE CEREMONY

Hayley and Jake’s wedding ceremony was a dream, and the happy couple couldn’t stop smiling. The church was sketched beautifully onto the order of service, they had an incredibly cute flower girl and the cherry on the top was a one of a kind Vintage bus taking the guests from the church to the reception after the wedding ceremony.

THE THEME AND DECORATION

Hayley and Jake wanted a simple yet memorable wedding. Hayley decided a rose gold and pink theme with pink bridesmaid dresses, a pink flair to the four-tiered cake and to the bridal bouquet, and gold chairs and gilded mirrors on the walls. In addition, luckily for Hayley and Jake, one of their friends loves to collect vintage buses and offered his service, free of charge to help them with transporting their guests.

Hayley: “Wedding favours were fudge – bought over from Newquay – which my mum and I put together in bags, completed with a personalised sticker with the initials H&J on them.”

THE VENUE

Moorland Garden Hotel was the perfect venue for their wedding. The wedding ceremony occurred at St. Mary the Virgin Church in Bickleigh and was followed by the reception at Moorland Garden Hotel. Team Jayley really picked a great theme and venue for their fairy-tale wedding.

THE DRESS

Hayley knew exactly what she wanted, and 25 dresses later, she found the One! And it looked stunning on her!

Hayley: “As for the dress, I knew I wanted a bardot dress and eventually found the one I wanted after trying on 25 dresses before it! I borrowed my sister-in-law’s veil and had a charm attached to my bouquet of my late Grandad – it was important for me to have him included in some way.”

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

Hayley read her speech from a mock-up ‘fairy tale’ book and the photographer certainly captured some fairy tale images as the bride and groom wandered through the grounds in the evening sunlight.  Photographers call it the golden hour for a reason, and it helped to create soft, dreamy images of this very relaxed pair.

The fairy tale photos were completed with an outdoor first dance in a gazebo reminiscent of The Sound of Music!
